Sailing will be held at Mumbai Harbour . The event will be conducted in international enterprise class of boats, which has two sails and each team  will have a crew of two members. The venue is ready in all respects. The venue is being  brought to international standards and all CISM requirements for the conduct of the event have been catered for. The required number of boats for the events have been procured and the supporting technical equipment is under procurement.

The Indian Team has participated in the 3rd Military World Championship at Italy besides bagging numerous medals at the Asian and World Sailing championships. We have a strong chance of winning a medal in sailing as we won a gold medal  during the World Military Sailing Championship conducted in Oct 06 at the same venue.

Captain (Indian Navy) Homi D Motivala, who is the ONLY INDIAN to have been awarded the coveted Arjuna Award, The Dronacharya Award and The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award is the race director for the event.
